Pre -K Counts Classroom Aid  

The Milton YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Education staff member to work part-time in the Pre-K Counts and Early Learning Classroom Monday through Friday. 
Hours are 9:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and may vary at times.

Qualifying applicants must have one of the following:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
  • Completion of at least two years of post-secondary study (60 credit minimum)
  • Must have or be able to obtain background clearances

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with learning and daily care routines for children
  • Assisting with mealtimes, cleaning and sanitizing toys and learning materials, and end of the day cleaning and sanitizing
  • Assisting with daily transitions and movement throughout the YMCA.
  • Preparing classroom materials and displays

Americorp Position 

The Milton YMCA has an full-time/temporary AmeriCorps position available for the 2019-2020 term, working with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years old.
Candidate should be enthusiastic and creative individual with excellent communication, relationship building and supervision skills .
Hours: 37 to 40 hours per week Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine care including preparation and delivery of meals
  • Excellent interaction with children
  • Monitor and record observations
  • Communication with parents and/or management
  • keep accurate records
  • Housekeeping responsibilities
  • Participation in CORE AmeriCorps Group Activities

Requirements:

  • Able to obtain FBI, State and Child Abuse Clearances
  • Must be 18 years old
  • High School Diploma
  • Physical and TB test
  • Some prior experience working with children

Infant Room Early Learning Staff

The Milton YMCA Early Learning program is seeking enthusiastic and creative Assistant Group Supervisors with great supervision skills to work part-time in the Infant Room.

Qualifications: Associates degree or higher preferred or High School Diploma and 2 years experience working with children. Must be willing to obtain FBI, State and Child Abuse Clearances.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Caring for infants while playing, on walks, and while engaged in planned educational activities including floor play, mealtimes, and diaper changes
  • Be a positive role model
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the physical environment
  • Excellent interactions including talking, singing and reading to babies
  • Following DPW/Stars regulations
  • Preparing, feeding, and cleaning up children and their meals and snacks including bottles
  • Lesson Planning and delivery of PA Learning Standards based lessons
  • Maintain files and record keeping
  • Assessment
  • Communication with parents and management
