AEROBICS

Cardio Boot Camp: Class incorporates short bursts on the stationary bike, floor exercises, using weights, tubes and body resistance to work major muscle groups.

Core Cut Interval: Cardio interval workout designed to make you sewat and get in shape through running, sprinting, kickboxing, plyometrics, body resistance and weights.

Women's Pump: A comprehensive weight workout in the fitness cneter where you will learn how to lift both free and Nautilus weights.

Ouida's Aerobics: Low impact aerobics class.

Power Circuit Training: 30 minutes intense muscular endurance class. 10 station faced paced workout. For all fitness level.

Ultimate Circuit: 45 minute class offering additional station to challenge the more advanced participant.

Cycling Circuit: Combining the best of both worlds; cycling & resistance training.

Group Cycling: Bring a towel and water for fun filled class! High-energy group exercise for men and women of all ages, abilities , and fitness levels. Not just a hard-core fitness program for outdoor cyclists. Improve aerobic and anaerobic fitness with minimal joint stress. No need to "stay in step", keep up, or compete. Ride at your own pace! Beginner through Advanced cyclists welcome!

Zumba: Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms and tantalzing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be fun and eady to do!

Line Dancing: Cardio training while learning to line dance.

Yoga: A great workout for all. Learn new posisiton and increase your body awareness while strengthening your core & improving muscle tone.

***Beginners are welcome to all classes.

AQUATICS

THE AQUATICS PROGRAM AT THE YMCA

Pool schedules can be picked up at the member service desk. 
Times for family swim and lap swim are listed.


Beginning Levels: All of these lessons last ½ hour

  • Waterbabies: Introduces safety awareness and develops pre-swimming skills in a fun atmosphere. Parent- child (6 mos – 36 mos)
  • Skippers: (Sunbury YMCA only) – for preschool age child with no water experience at all. Age 3-5
  • Pike:  This class is for the preschooler who has completed the skipper class or has some water experience. Age 3-5
  • Eel: This is for the child who can swim with her head above water without assistance or a floatation device at least 5 feet. Age 3-5
  • Stingray:  This is a transitional class from Eel to Ray.  We work with belts to build endurance and strength.  Age 3-5  SUNBURY ONLY
  • Ray: This is an advanced preschool class for children who can swim at least 15 feet without assistance or a floatation device. Age 3-5
  • Starfish:  This is the most advanced preschool swimming class with a focus on endurance and stroke refinement. Age 3-5

 

Progressive Swim Lessons (Ages K5 to 14): All of these lessons last 45 minutes

  • Private Swim Lessons are available at both branches
    Call for information
    Polliwog: This is the beginner level for the child who has little or no water experience.
  • Guppy:  This level introduces front crawl with rotary breathing.
  • Minnow:  Child must be able to swim front crawl with rotary breathing to enter this level.  This class refines front crawl and introduces back crawl and diving.
  • Fish:  Child must be able to swim 25 yards front and back crawl.  Introduces breaststroke kick and elementary backstroke.
  • Flying Fish/Shark:  These advanced levels concentrate on technique and endurance.  It introduces the butterfly stroke and flip turns.
  • Porpoise:  Introduces basic lifeguarding.  Must have completed all previous levels or test out of them. 

Adult ( Age 15 and up)

  • There are 3 levels for adults. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

SUMMER AT THE YMCA ARTS CENTER

Kids Art Classes: Over 13 choices in camps, classes or one-day workshops are offered for kids ages 5-13.

Adult Classes: Are helf throughout the summer months in the day and evening.
Oil Painting, Watercolor, Pottery, Jewelry, Lapidary, Quilting, Wood Carving.

School Aged Child Care (SACC)

For Milton School District: held at the Milton YMCA

  • For Milton, White Deer, and Montandon elementary school students  (transportation provided)
  • Kindergarten through 5th grade
  • Monday through Friday Counselor supervised homework time, arts & crafts, games, and physical activity including swimming
  • “Days Off Camp” is also held on snow days and school holiday breaks
  • Call to register. $10 Registration Fee.

Milton Gymnastics Program

The Milton YMCA Proudly announces their New Tumbling Class.
4 week class
Beginners - Monday at 5:30
Intermediate - Monday at 6:30
Skills evaluation held on Monday March 15th at 5:30 for K-6th grade and 6:30 for grades 7 through 12th.
Cost is $10 for Family Members
$21 for Youth members
$29 for non members.

Beginner Gymnastics – for the gymnast with little or no knowledge of gymnastics.  Warm up, stretching, and use of vault, bars, beam, and floor.

  • Ages 6 and up
  • M/W 5:30-6:30pm
  • Cost: $20 family member - $42 youth member - $58 non-member

Intermediate Gymnastics – For the more advanced gymnast.   

  • More difficult skills and a higher level of strength and flexibility.
  • Admission to class reserved under the instructor’s discretion.

  • Teen Center is available for rent. This area has pool tables, dance floor,and swimming pool.
    Cost : members $120 for 2 ½ hours  |  non-members $150 for 2 ½ hours
  • Y Teen Warehouse...great for meetings and reunions!
    Cost: members $65hr.  |  non-members $75hr.
